Pirate Fairy Anna, Baby Pumpkin Desmond and their parents joined us for the annual NOPA Street Party. This party gets bigger and bigger every year! This year, two whole blocks were closed to traffic, and almost every house participated...haunted garages, over-the-top house decorations, and hundreds of people. It was still just a tad overwhelming for the girls (maybe next year they'll be totally into it), but we did hit a couple of haunted garages and managed to score a bit of candy.
On the homefront, it was a quiet year. Only one set of trick or treaters: a threesome in their 20's, smoking cigarettes, wearing street clothes, with painted faces. Something tells me they were feeling good from a bit of silly tobacco and it was just an easy night to ring a doorbell and satisfy their munchies. Lucky them...they got an entire bag of mini Snickers from me. And then I turned the light off.
