We celebrated the last of the summer weather here in SF by taking the whole family to Crissy Field on Sunday. Major loved the walk, Mya loved her nap in the car seat, and Mommy and Daddy enjoyed introducing Mya to some hometown landmarks.
"I'm a bit scared about the whole thing too...but who isn't, She-Ra?" - Colleen, on our fears about labor and delivery. Any reference to the Princess of Power has to make the fave quotes.
"You just don't have the greatest cervix." - Dr. Musci, discussing my slowly but steadily shortening cervix.
NY Bitch: "No, I worked REALLY hard to get this aisle seat." Steve: "Wow, that's unbelievable." NYB: "No, YOU'RE unbelievable. If you wanted to sit together YOU should have booked a different flight." - Dialogue while trying to maneuver sitting together on our flight home to SF. After explaining our medical situation. NYB ended up sleeping the entire flight.
"Have we told you the placenta story?" - Dana and Aaron, followed by the story of their acquaintances, who saved their placenta and had it made into menopause pills (for her) and a chew toy (for the baby). Seriously.
"You don't have to be a great father. You don't even have to be a good father. You really just want to make sure you keep her off the pole." Steve, quoting Chris Rock's comedy bit about being a dad to a little girl
"They're going to flame and burn" - Erica's absentminded combination of "go down in flames" and "crash and burn", forecasting the Houston Rockets playoff destiny
Steve: "So, Erica's not drinking tonight..." Jamie: "Cool, so she can drive us home." - Steve trying to tell Jamie we're having a baby and his subsequent reaction.
Ultrasound Tech: "Your placenta is in the front..." Erica: "Is that why I'm bloated?" U.T.: "You're not bloated, you're pregnant."
"The baby can adjust to you, so you don't have to adjust to the baby" - Amy (in the context of wanting to travel with Minor)
